Weight-Loss Tips and Tricks: Avoid Eating “Amnesia”
Certain practices, including eating in front of the TV, eating while standing up, or eating off your kid’s plates, can make you easily forget how much you’ve put in your mouth, says Kathleen Zelman, M.P.H., R.D., director of nutriotion at WebMD.com and a nutrition consultant in Atlanta. In these instances, “you are not paying attention, you’re just going hand to mouth and you don’t realize how many calories you’re getting.” The solution: Eat only at a table and off your own plate.
