It can also help you slim down: A study at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine found that when people had social support for a weight-loss program, 95 percent of them completed the program and 66 percent maintained their weight loss after 10 months; only 24 percent of those who did it alone maintained their slimmer shapes at 10 months.
