Foods That Burn Calories by Boosting your Metabolism
While stepping up your activity level is the No. 1 calorie burner, you can increase your metabolism by eating certain foods. Your metabolism is your body’s engine and the food you consume are either used energy, stored as fat, or flushed as waste products. If you take in more food than you burn, your body stores it as fat. The following foods keep you feeling full longer on fewer calories and boost metabolism to help prevent fat storage.
Spicy Foods. Such as hot peppers, horseradish, chile powder, mustard, fennel, cumin, aniseed and ginger not only initiate a thermodynamic burn to boost metabolism, but also improve digestion.
Green Tea. Contains cetechin polyphenols, compounds that may increase the total amount of calorie burned in a day.
Citrus Fruits. Including oranges, grapefruits, tangerines, lemons and limes are rich in vitamin C. Vitamin C’s fat-burning powers include the ability to dilute fat and flush it out of the body.
Garlic and Onions. Contains minerals and oils that break down fat deposits and speed up metabolism.
Broccoli, Beets, Asparagus, Cabbage, Carrots, Celery, Cucumbers, Brussels Sprouts, Tomatoes, Letuce and Radishes. Have fat-flushing properties that enhanced the metabolic process.
Apple Cider Vinegar. Has malic acid which is associated with the fat-burning process.
Lean Turkey or (or other lean protien) boosts metabolism and burns calories because it takes more energy to digest than other foods. A 3-ounce serving boneless, skinless lean turkey breast contains only 120 calories, providing a whooping 26 gram of protien and 0 gram of saturated fat!
