Making Your Tomato Puree
The Dilemma. A recipe calls for a fresh, peeled tomatoes, but you don’t have a clue how to do it.
Here my solution. Slit the bottom of tomato by making a shallow “X” using a knife. Plunge the slit tomato in boiling water for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Take the tomato out and rinse in cold water or allow to cool briefly. Remove the skin using a knife or vegetable peeler. Then spin them in a blender to make it puree.
