At Starbucks, a blueberry scone contains 460 calories and 8 grams of saturated fat, whereas a blueberry muffin contains 380 calories and 3.5 grams of saturated fat. A blueberry muffin contains 470 calories at Dunkin’ Donuts and 510 calories at Au Bon Pain, but the saturated fat values are dramatically lower for muffins than for scones.
Low-fat muffin are typically in the 300 to 400 calorie range. But here’s a tip to remember: Beware of bran muffins, “Oat bran isn’t that tasty, so they add alot of sugar, which makes the calories even higher than other muffins.
