Stable floors should be constructed of smooth concrete and cleaned and hosed down each day. Dirt floors should be packed down hard every day, and all loose dirt removed and spread over the fields. Be sure to keep the corners of the animals’ food boxes clean. Flies breed rapidly wherever food is left behind.
Fly sprays are very useful keeping these pests under control. But all fly sprays contain position that may be harmful to animals and humans as well as flies. Be careful not to breathe the fumes from these fly sprays. Do not use them in the animals’ feed boxes.
